Cornell University Alternative Spring Breaks
In March 2008, the Tangelo Park Program attracted eight Cornell students for an Alternative Spring Break. These students worked as volunteers in the Tangelo Park Elementary School, the community’s Two- Three- and Four-Year Old Program, and mentored Tangelo Park students at the Dr. Phillips High School. The students also participated in a presentation of the Parent Leadership Program and a monthly Community Advisory Board meeting.
In March 2009, Tangelo Park Program welcomed eight Cornell undergraduates, a graduate level team leader and the director of the program. Once again a successful visit, Tangelo Park Program will make this an annual event.
